Inspect on arrival, within hours, not days. Photograph the pallet label, the box label, the defect and a ruler or colour chart. Record pulp temperature and download the logger.
Compare against the written spec, not against expectation. A claim that cites the spec, the tolerance and the percentage of defects found is usually settled quickly.
